Aquaman Redesigned!
Hola mes amis!
Sorry I've been out of the galaxy for a while. I thought I'd post this redesign I did of Aquaman recently. I decided that instead of the mopey, hook-handed "King Aquaman" I'd riff off of the 70s cartoon Aquaman and do an update of that. I made him more of a surfer type of character than a superhero, since he lives in the sea. I also thought that I'd underscore his powers by having him surf on a shark, which most surfers would steer clear of I'd imagine. I've also been posting stuff on my new blog, IguanaBot. Stop by for a visit, but don't drink the coffee- it's terrible! ;)

Week 2 Replicant: Desert Eagle
Better late than never... Desert Eagle can tap into the power of her spirit animal at will, an ancient Thunderbird. This Thunderbird only appears as a faint apparition, and gives her the powers of flight and the ability to send her guardian out for reconnaissance (both in the natural and spirit world). While her physical strength is only average for an 8 year old girl, the force of a supernatural 50ft wingspan behind her and invisible thrashing talons in front can do lethal damage quite easily when channeled. All for now, thanks!

"Quemadura" means "Sunburn," and Quemadura means business!
I've really been looking forward to doing a replicant of Sunfire! My initial idea was to have a steampunk-looking guy with goggles, but then I offhandedly thought that Sunfire's crazy mask was kind of luchador-looking. Luchadors are masked professional wrestlers popular in Spanish-speaking countries, in case you're not familiar with the term. Once I made that connection, it was pretty impossible to not use such a cool idea! For the name, I liked various combinations of fire etc, and I thought "Sun Burn" sounded cool, except, y'know, a sunburn, er, is just a sunburn. But hey, it sounds cool in Spanish! I got a little nuts with the flames in Illustrator, but I think they look pretty cool. Best of all, now I can go check out everyone else's versions of Sunfire! :) Up next: Storm!
